SeaQualizer Descending Devices

The SeaQualizer is a non-invasive descending device designed to help fish recover from the effects of barotrauma. Barotrauma occurs when fish are brought to the surface from deep water, causing the swim bladder to expand beyond its normal size.

Physical effects of barotrauma can include:

• Floating at the surface
• Stomach protruding from the mouth
• Bulging eyes
• Flared gills
• Inflated body cavities

To use, attach the SeaQualizer to a fishing rod or retrieval line, clip it to the fish, and lower it back down to your preset depth. The device automatically releases the fish at that depth, allowing natural water pressure to re-compress the swim bladder and restore neutral buoyancy — eliminating the visible effects of barotrauma and giving the fish the best chance of survival.
